ok so when i plug it into an outlet, there is a beeping sound and it does not power up. it sometimes work when i put it into different outlets and play with the wires, but now it stops working! help!

Hello! Everyone I need your help. From previous months, I have been able to play cabal online with norton antivirus on at my Windows Vista and Windows Xp computer. But recently, after norton has been updated, I can n o longer load my cabal online game. Any tips how I can solve this? When I drag & drop a contact from Outlook to a folder in Windows Explorer they are saved as a .msg format. Does this save everything associated with that contact? Can I put them back into Outlook from this format? I want to save all my contacts in Outlook but I am just going to put about 30 in my Yahoo & Windows Live email accounts.

You don’t buy it. The App Store app comes with the iPod Touch and iPhone. If you can’t find it on the device, check your settings. You might have turned on the parental controls.

So I just got photoshop cs4 and it’s the BOMB. i’ve been doing a lot of typography on it and i’ve been using text it’s not that I’ve lost text it’s just not visible afterwards I can see what I’ve typed. How do I get it back to see the text as I am typing it! HEEELPP

I have a few songs in vista that I downloaded. They are on my desktop and I’ve been working at this for an hour. The icons of the songs display their album covers instead of the normal mp3 icon they should show. I was trying to get rid of the album cover but I can’t seen to for some reason. It was much easier in XP. Anyone know how I can do that? Much Appreciated!

About a few months ago I had found a picture off the internet that I liked and used it for my User Account picture. Once I had it installed as default picture, I deleted the original picture because it wasn’t needed anymore. Now I want to use the picture again for something else. How can I recover the picture I am currently using? It was a .JPG image when I installed it. What I want is to be able to have it in .JPG format. i.e Is it stored somewhere in the computer? If it helps, I am running on Windows Vista Home Premium x64. 10 points to someone who can help me out. :] Thanks

How come to move the mouse on you’re laptop, you can only use you’re finger? ive tried with a pen or a piece of paper covering my finger, among other things, but it only responds to my finger. Any ideas why?

I’m a photographer on the side. There have been several instances recently where the CDRs the clients have received of photo images have been BLANK! I always check and double check the CDRs before packing them up and sending them off in the mail. I don’t know what makes some CDRs deliver correctly, yet others are blank. The blank CDRs even have the dark ring on the underside of the CDR showing that memory HAS in fact been taken up on the CDR. HELP!!!

My desktop speakers have been working for alittle over 4 years now and the just recently decided not to work after I used them for my Xbox 360 Audio. I tried to plug them back in and I put the cord in the audio built in sound card slot in the back of my computer but they dont work. So I uninstalled the software and re installed the latest drivers and all of that. I restart my computer and the same problem. I have the right speakers on Default. So what could possibly be wrong? The Cord is pluged in in the proper place and everything was just as it was before…..

i recently bought a netbook that i have been using for school. i fell asleep with my laptop on and open to some internet pages…. and during the night, spyware loaded onto my new netbook. i don’t have any anti-virus/anti-spyware protection on it yet because i haven’t had a chance to have it installed. is there anyway that i could get this spyware off without damaging my computer… i’m ok with losing some files if i have to. please help me, i don’t know what to do

But now i need to install linux. is there a way to install without using a cd drive onto a totally different partition? and be able to dual boot? if i mount it it says i can install inside windows????? exactly what does this mean and it says there will be a performace loss. if i install it on a totally different partition will i be ok?>

I’ve been trying out ubuntu for a few months and so far it’s been ok. I want to know how to do a clean install (from jaunty to karmic) if /home is on a separate partition and if i’m already dual booting with vista. step-by-step instructions would be much appreciated. -Do i have to first delete the / partition and then install karmic? how does karmic recognize the /home partition i already have? -And when filling out info for usn & pw do I just use the same one as before? –Thanks a lot

I make videos on the sims and one of my guinea pigs to go on youtube and I want to make more. Any ideas? I was thinking of doing a G Force parody but I only have two piggies and my sister doesn’t feel like doing that. Even if it’s like a tutorial video, on like, how to train your piggy to do a trick or something. Or a sims tutorial on something people don’t already know how to do. On the sims I can make music videos or whatever, but I only have moviemaker to edit the vids on. Any ideas for videos? Thanks in ad.

I am visiting China from Australia and my boyfriends Chinese internet will not allow me to go on to my Australian Internet Banking site, Facebook account page or my Yahoo mail log in page… (I can only log on to yahoo through his yahoo messenger page)… when I try to get in to these pages most of the time this message page will come up… “There is a problem with this website’s security certificate” or “Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage”… but I did not had trouble getting on to these pages from the internet in Singapore (not from this computer or internet tho)… My boyfriend had only just brought this Laptop, I think it is running with MS Windows XP program and using Windows Internet Explorer… My boyfriend is now at work so I am unable to ask him if he knows what is happening, so please please please if anyone can tell me what I can do I will be truly grateful as I really need to get on to my bank to pay my bills… thank you all in advance for any assistance you may be able to offer

I’ve been up to the main “find add ons” part of Firefox and tried - Full Screen Full Fullscreen then I looked for more and had to get more specific. One just for the status bare and on for the address bar…. Seriously, I just want an add on, toggeled or not, that will show up when I mouse over. Small netbook screens are so small in the first place, then you add bookmarks and a searchbar +++ These are all things I want and I know I can turn them off. I just want it all “autohide” This seems like it would be a slam dunk to find this, and here I just spent an hour and I feel like I’m taking crazy pills! I’d also like it for W7 and for OS X (yes on a netbook). I’ll add this to my “stuff I didn’t want to know about” pile. Alongside bios and tcp/ip me-pee. Thanks

Hey, i have been having alot of problems wit my CPU and its been very slow and i keep getting those Online Spam pop ups where you get those fake virus scans. Last night my computer rebooted without warning or explanation. It came back up with everything normal seeming so I assumed it was one of those bastard windows updates. About an hour later I was using firefox and then it stopped responding to clocks. Outside of firefox, a mouseclick was recognized once per item, but no more. Using alt + ctrl + del results in the icon for the system monitor showing up in the tasktray, but nothing more. I could not interact. I rebooted it in safe mode and used system restore to take it to about 3 days back. (I haven’t had any other day work so far and I’ve tried at least 10 different days.) I thought it had fixed it, and I left the computer running all night with no programs open. In the morning, I went to firefox and after about 10 minutes, everything locked again. Rebooted and tried internet explorer with the same result. I just now removed firefox 3.0 and then installed 3.5, but that didn’t change anything. While downloading new nvidia drivers (I suspect that it’s a graphical problem) the system locked again and I just now rebooted. I am very frustrated. Neither AVG nor SpyRemover find any viruses or other malware. They’re both up to date. Part of what is bothering me is that there are no symptoms of viruses or malware outside of this. Okay. So number one problem is I have to type slowly, or my sentences look like this- “elo ow are yo ad wha is going o?” My laptop has touch sensor buttons at the top too that don’t seem to work at ALL. Or the touch pad at all. It’s a dell with vista. I have done virus scans and nothing has came up. I usually use a cordless mouse but it has never affected it before. Hi, Ok I have a dell laptop inspiron E1505, I really need help with this malware or whatever it is ! I didn’t have a good virus protection, and at the time of infection a prompt kept coming up something like you can delete this virus but you may lose files, damage your computer or it may not restart! Let me start off by saying what actually happens with videos. Whenever a page comes up that has a potential video on it, ones in which you can click a play button, my computer freezes up immediately. I ran a virus scan and there are no viruses. Literally, a second after the page comes up it freezes and the “program is not responding”. It was working fine early today. Now that I think back though, a message came up that was asking for me to grant permission or something and I may have clicked never but I can’t remember what is was asking for etc. Are there any common downloads I could do or any security options that I can get around? I’ve always had no problems with getting internet on my computer. Now I can’t connect. I’ve checked and everything is plugged in. I don’t think it is a problem with the cables because I don’t get the message “Local cable disconnected”. All the other computers in my house are working fine. I think that something is wrong with the actual computer. I had a trojan (InternetSecurity2010) before that happened, maybe that has something to do with it? I’ve tried Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari. Other odd things are happening too…after a few hours or so none of the applications will work (iTunes, microsoft word, etc) and a lot of the words start to disappear. Likeee, the start button at the bottom left corner doesn’t say start, it just is a green blob and when you click on it, it only shows the picture for each application. I’ve run spybot and malwarebytes scans and they both came up with nothing. I dont have any actual antivirus to run because I was in the middle of downloading Kaspersky Anti Virus when it happened and whenever I put in the code, it says that it can’t download because it can’t access the internet. Hi, I have a laptop with a broken screen, a Gateway. I am just going to use it as a desktop, plug it in via VGA to an external monitor. It works fine, I can use the external monitor in BIOS and everything, even in Safe mode, but when I boot up normally, the external monitor turns off. The laptop-screen doesn’t work at all. I know it’s because the drivers are set to to that, there is a hotkey to switch LCD-to-VGA-to-SVideo but it’s not working. Help!! What should I do?

I have a Dell Latitude Laptop using Windows XP. I took it to Geek Squad because it was skipping and the freezing up when I played DVDs or any kind of audio. When it freezes I have to turn it off witut shutting it down. It also wouldn’t freeze right away..it freezes into about 10 minutes of playing DVDs or youtube videos. It was also making weird noises when it froze. Best Buy informed me that the noise wasn’t any hardware issue, but the kind of noise the computer makes when it’s frozen. They said nothing was wrong hardware wise, and that I had 6 viruses on the laptop. Well now, all those viruses are removed, and my laptop is still skipping and freezing when I play DVDs..to the point where I have to turn off the computer without shutting it down. I had to recently wipe out my Windows Vista and re-install it with XP because it became too virus infested and completely failed. Now I am looking into how I can prevent these issues. I love to download fonts, but I don’t exactly want to pay $20 for them. I used to use DaFont.com and I loved it, but now I’ve been looking at reviews and such to make sure. I’m looking for a 750GB 7200RPM hard drive for my Dell Vostro 1520. The 250GB I have only runs in Safe Mode because of a virus I can’t remove. I want an external hard drive so I can take the 750GB and put it in my laptop, install Windows on it and then put my 250GB into the external enclosure and copy all my files to the 750GB. I have a Dell Inspiron 530 with Vista. I downloaded a MS word file which was attached to an email (no viruses, as far as I know). I then right clicked on the icon and renamed the file. A new icon with the new name appeared, and works fine to open the file. The old icon remained on the desktop and will neither open nor delete. When I try to open it it asks what program to use (even though it’s a .doc), I pick Word, then nothing happens. When I try to drag it to the recycle bin it says it’s no longer located on the desktop and I need to verify its location. It says its size is 0 bytes. Brand New Gateway PC SX2800-03 Windows Vista Home 64bit with SP1 Intel Core2 Quad Q8200 4gigs of DDR3 for RAM Intel GMA X4500 Intergrated video (vga and hdmi outputs) 640 gig My friend just got this pc for Christmas. They were installing softwares. They must have downloaded a crappy software to get this error. The last software they installed and all the problems started after the install was iTunes. Probaly didn’t get it directly from Apple and got it from another fake website or something. OR maybe he may have visited an adult site and gotten the trojan/virus. Heck I don’t know cause the dang thing wont boot up. Here’s what I’ve tried so far…. 1. changed bios settings to boot only from hd. 2. tried booting into safe mode, it’ll restart cause it’ll get stuck right at cscdisk.dll 3. tried booting to last known good config 4. tried the “Launch Startup Repair”… that tried to repair but went straight to BSOD after 10min. it started a couple of weeks ago, the keyboard and touch pad stopped working, thought it must be a virus so ran scans with AVG and Avira but nothing showed, the problem seems intermittent, sometimes everything seems fine and then it all goes weired again usually starting with the curser either not responding or jumping all over the screen and sometimes disappearing altogether. I have ran C cleaner, Spy-bot and a couple of hours ago cleaned the registry with Reg-cure, apparently I had over 2000 problems, none of these made any difference. I decided to do a full recovery but when I follow the instructions and try to boot from the recovery disc it just tries to boot normally and asks for my account password which I cant enter because the keyboard ain’t working. My internet explorer also keeps on saying that there was an error so it keeps shutting down. I already scaned my compuer several times and all it catches is a tracking cookie, It never picks up any virus. Also one of the sities that popped up was about norton popping up sites and had people’s comments of how annoying that was. It was a Norton site(wich pooped up too) I dont know if that is even relevant to this. I’ve had my laptop for approximately two years and all of a sudden it has started to shut down constantly. I downloaded freeware to catch viruses, etc., and it cleaned my laptop up, but the problem still persists. It’s really starting to frustrate me!!!!!!! Recently my computer has been popping up blue stop screens, it has something to do with thekernell memory dump or something, so I copied all my files onto my flash drive and now the flash drives has a file on it that is saved as “BOOTEX”. When I open the file it says “Checking file system on E: The type of the file system is FAT. The volume is dirty.” What does this mean? My Dell D820’s touchpad is not working correctly. I can move the cursor, but it won’t click on anything. There doesn’t seem to be anything preventing the buttons from moving (dirt under buttons). An external mouse works fine. Adjusted the control panel settings. Updated the drivers. Did a virus scan. Tech support came up with nothing. Any ideas? I recently bought a laptop over Christmas along with Microsoft 2007 Home & Student and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2010 (they are both on disc/CDs). Do I still need an internet connection for installing them, like if I was required to activate something online? I know on boxes of both it says if you don’t have a CD drive you can install if online, since they give you an activation code. I DO have a CD drive. I believe I may have picked up a virus. Just yesterday my pc started acting “funny” - locking up when moving from one thing to another, etc. Then today I attempted to log into my online bank account and was taken to a page (which looked as though it was part of my bank’s site) that was asking for my name, dob, ss#, bank card number, pin, etc in order to “verify” me. I knew this wasn’t right so I closed internet explorer, re-opened and tried going to Ebay, when I attempted to log in there I was taken to the same sort of page but this time it looked like it was part of the Ebay site. I have a piece of adware on my computer that I obviously wish to get rid of (it slows down my computer… -.-). Avira Free Version is a perfectly fine antivirus program, but apparently it does not have this (insert obscene adjective here) adware on its detection list. I looked into this adware a bit more and found that AVG should have it on its detection list, which would mean a
for me and a 
for the adware… elimation of the adware in other words. There are several problems with this idea, though. 1. I am not sure about this, but I believe I read somewhere that having multiple AVs (AntiVirus) may cause confliction between programs… is this true? (read titular question for the specifics) 2. Supposing that the above question were answered with a “Yes”, I would have to remove Avira. I have also read that this action is difficult to fully complete… is this true and if so, how would I go about screwing the adware (FYI it is called WhenU SaveNow, and it is despicable in my personal opinion)? 3. Should someone else incidentally have this (virus? adware? program?)… thing… and have successfully removed it, could you answer back with your solution? Notes about the *censor*ing software… I am aware that you (ahem) should (ahem) be able to remove the “thing” (I refuse to name it except in an above example) in Windows’ Add/Remove Programs panel. It is not a part of the list of removable items, so I assume it must have latched onto a download (silly brother >:O). Because my computer is second-hand, it has a variety of rather shifty programs (in my paranoid opinion). Flock I think is decent, Limewire… not so decent, my idiot brother’s downloads off Limewire… VERY untrustworthy. However, the adware might have been present before that bozo downloaded Limewire, so I can’t fix the blame on Limewire. Also, this adware updates itself and seems to “read” the content on the web pages I browse and display related content… fortunately, it does not understand Mandarin. The adware PHAILS (phails, fails, same thing) in that it displays its unconvincingly poor “Click me” (the “click me” idea is displayed in many ways…) ideas in Internet Explorer while I browse in Mozilla Firefox -.- Any solution would be welcome. I have AVG on it, but whenever I go to piratebay, not even download just go to a link on there I get a butt ton of viruses and my computer won’t allow me to run AVG, any program, or the internet because they are all corrupt. Okay..I’m totally a newb at this and I don’t really know much about what’s going on in my computer, but one day I was playig sims 2 and my computer shut down and restarted, and so I didn’t really make a big deal out of it until it kept happening. Then yesterday my comp started being extremely slow. I thought I had some type of virus so I tried doing a virus scan, and while waiting for that to finish I installed mAlwarebytes and got it installed but for some reason it didn’t run. So I installed adwarebot and did a scan and it showed me over 500 infected files and I removed them all. Then I tried turning off the automatic restarting thing, then suddenly I got the BSOD, saying I had the driver_irql_not_less_or_equal. And I have no idea what that means, and basically I haven’t been able to find out what the problem was because whenever I try to do I virus scan I can’t succesfully finish it wihout my comp restarting randomly. I suddenly noticed that most files names turned blue in font color in every directory i enter. i can not seem to change it back to black and i do not understand what have caused it. i thought maybe it is a virus or spyware since it happened suddenly, i checked for viruses and spywares/malwares and i could not find anything. Okay. So number one problem is I have to type slowly, or my sentences look like this- “elo ow are yo ad wha is going o?” My laptop has touch sensor buttons at the top too that don’t seem to work at ALL. it started a couple of weeks ago, the keyboard and touch pad stopped working, thought it must be a virus so ran scans with AVG and Avira but nothing showed, the problem seems intermittent, sometimes everything seems fine and then it all goes weired again usually starting with the curser either not responding or jumping all over the screen and sometimes disappearing altogether. I have ran C cleaner, Spy-bot and a couple of hours ago cleaned the registry with Reg-cure, apparently I had over 2000 problems, none of these made any difference. I decided to do a full recovery but when I follow the instructions and try to boot from the recovery disc it just tries to boot normally and asks for my account password which I cant enter because the keyboard ain’t working. Trying to figure out what’s going on with my parents’ PC…every so often they can hear a radio broadcast from their PC speakers. Always some infomercial or asian talk show. I’ve tried going through all their running programs, removed the extension cords, disconnected the broadband but you can still hear it. This just started a few months ago. I’ve run virus scans, AdAware, HijackThis, etc. coming up with nothing every time. Out of no where. I keep getting messages that pop up stating that my computer is infected, danger, attention, etc… then it tells you to download or continue unprotected. Uniblue does make a AntiSpyware for computers called Spy Eraser. However as this one appears to be legite, its comprimising my computer. After searching for the file I found it not as a program on the computer, but as a file in System32. Every two minutes those messages come up. I can not exit the program or disable it. It appears as if its a legitimate program, an icon on the bar next to the clock and one implanted on the desk top. However I ran all my spyware programs, anti-virus’ programs and id failed to detect it. So I instaled MalwareBytes and it found it, and removed it. I ran it twice and everything else twice. Three hours later while the computer was siting, the message popped up. The icon reappeared on the desktop. The message continues every two minutes. Each message is similar but a little different from the rest. However it never changes its motive. I ran MalwareBytes again, it detected the infected files. So I did some research and found that I should use a program called RegCure to eliminate the rest of the files that were not being removed under the registry. It found 1242 infected files, and fixed them. However, I still find myself in the same boat. However I was told that I may not need to re-install the Windows, XP. Well i hav windows 7 and it was workin perfectly then suddenly it comes up with a threat detected saying C:/Windows/Temp/Bla bla bla/Svchost.exe. Note: ignore the Bla bla bla. its some random file i dont know and it is a temp. so anyway can anyone help me plz. I scaned my computer with AVG Virus System and it came up with trogan virus detected C:/ProgramFiles/WarcraftIII/WarcraftIII.… and FronzenThrone.exe. this pisses me off! and that has nothing to do with this. so like every few miuntes it comes up with a error sayin some threat has been detected. and everytime i try to open WarcraftIII.exe and Frozen Throne.exe it comes up with an error sayin WarcraftIII.exe Or Frozen Throne.exe Trojan virus detected. which has nothin to do with the Svchost.exe. this came up just after i started mukin around with This so called Svchost.exe file which is under system32. Last night my computer rebooted without warning or explanation. It came back up with everything normal seeming so I assumed it was one of those bastard windows updates. About an hour later I was using firefox and then it stopped responding to clocks. Outside of firefox, a mouseclick was recognized once per item, but no more. Using alt + ctrl + del results in the icon for the system monitor showing up in the tasktray, but nothing more. I could not interact. I rebooted it in safe mode and used system restore to take it to about 3 days back. (I haven’t had any other day work so far and I’ve tried at least 10 different days.) I thought it had fixed it, and I left the computer running all night with no programs open. In the morning, I went to firefox and after about 10 minutes, everything locked again. Rebooted and tried internet explorer with the same result. I just now removed firefox 3.0 and then installed 3.5, but that didn’t change anything. While downloading new nvidia drivers (I suspect that it’s a graphical problem) the system locked again and I just now rebooted. I am very frustrated. Neither AVG nor SpyRemover find any viruses or other malware. They’re both up to date. Part of what is bothering me is that there are no symptoms of viruses or malware outside of this. In some ways, that would almost be preferable. At the moment though, I am stuck, so please do what you can to help. I have a virus that is not allowing me to view hidden files or folders. It won’t either allow me to run regedit or any programs to fix that. But I can access most of my files for backup. I just want to somehow select my hidden files, and copy them to a hard drive for backup, but it won’t let me unless I am able to view them. My computer has had a horrible virus for at least a week. Instead of taking it to a repair shop, my dad bought me mcafee. Today I installed it and it took about 6 hours. But now when I type in my password for my profile, it acts like it will log me in but then it goes back to the log in screen where the different profiles are listed. I have windows xp. Okay. So number one problem is I have to type slowly, or my sentences look like this- “elo ow are yo ad wha is going o?” My laptop has touch sensor buttons at the top too that don’t seem to work at ALL. Or the touch pad at all. It’s a dell with vista. I have done virus scans and nothing has came up. I usually use a cordless mouse but it has never affected it before. I installed Mozilla Firefox in F drive. Due to virus problem I formatted my C drive.Then i can’t find Mozilla firefox. So I installed Mozilla again. I have been running the free version of AVG for years but it has been causing problems with Internet Explorer 8. I solved it by replacing my AVG with BT Net Protect but now my father is having the same problem and his ISP doesn’t provide any security software. I want to uninstall AVG from his PC but I’m not sure what to replace it with. Does anyone have any experience of other free anti-virus software that they can recommend? Many thanks. I have a virus that is not allowing me to view hidden files or folders. It won’t either allow me to run regedit or any programs to fix that. But I can access most of my files for backup. I just want to somehow select my hidden files, and copy them to a hard drive for backup, but it won’t let me unless I am able to view them. I have a gateway mx6421 with windows xp I keep getting the blue death screen which does not stay up long enough for me to get an error code. I have tried to uninstall drivers remove programs and system restore and none have worked. I have tried reinstalling windows xp and it states I am running a newer version (which isn’t true). I have done virus scans, disc scans and the blue screen as usual shuts the computer down. I would do a system recovery however I do not have the disc (gateway did not give them) I have tried preforming it from the D drive however once I put in the operating disc which came with the computer it makes it to 18% and the damn blue screen shuts it down. I have a Dell Latitude Laptop using Windows XP. I took it to Geek Squad because it was skipping and the freezing up when I played DVDs or any kind of audio. When it freezes I have to turn it off witut shutting it down. It also wouldn’t freeze right away..it freezes into about 10 minutes of playing DVDs or youtube videos. It was also making weird noises when it froze. Best Buy informed me that the noise wasn’t any hardware issue, but the kind of noise the computer makes when it’s frozen. They said nothing was wrong hardware wise, and that I had 6 viruses on the laptop. Well now, all those viruses are removed, and my laptop is still skipping and freezing when I play DVDs..to the point where I have to turn off the computer without shutting it down. If it’s not viruses, and geek squad said everything is fine with the computer physically, then what is it? I believe I may have picked up a virus. Just yesterday my pc started acting “funny” - locking up when moving from one thing to another, etc. Then today I attempted to log into my online bank account and was taken to a page (which looked as though it was part of my bank’s site) that was asking for my name, dob, ss#, bank card number, pin, etc in order to “verify” me. I knew this wasn’t right so I closed internet explorer, re-opened and tried going to Ebay, when I attempted to log in there I was taken to the same sort of page but this time it looked like it was part of the Ebay site. Hi there. I would like to know what the following: ZoneAlarm, and Windows Defender will do for my laptop. I already have avast! 4 Home Edition installed, and would like to enhance my laptop’s security. And that’s why I would like to know what ZoneAlarm and Windows Defender will do, what else do they cover? What parts of my laptop do they protect and so on, for instance, internet security or the laptop itself? If you know what I mean. now a few days ago i was on my most used account on my computer and outta nowhere it says i have a virus and that everything is infected and anytime i click on anything it says the application cannot be executed because it is infected and this keeps popping up every 5 seconds and its annoying because i have a lot of pictures,videos,music,etc. on that account and its only that account that is infected and no other ones which i think doesn’t make sense but whatever is there anyway to transfer my stuff from my old account onto my new one? or maybe fix my old account?because nothing works on my old one. when i click on it to scan my computer it wont help it just scans which is bullshit HELP I DON’T WANNA LOSE ALL MY MUSIC ON ITUNES!!!!!!and other stuff!! Earlier I kept getting notices from my computer about downloading anti-spyware and how my computer is at risk and how they found a bunch of trojans and worms on my computer. So I opened my McAfee (thats the security I use and I thought it would alert me for any problems) so I checked it, no sweat it said nothing was wrong, so I wrote off the ones my computer was sending me because I was on the internet and I was trying to find a profile layout generator, and I thought that maybe it was false. So just in case I decide to run a virus scan to make sure everything is cool. I walk away from my computer for a few moments, and when i come back my computer is off. So I try to reboot it and it wont work. It refuses to reboot in windows regular. It gets to the little microsoft booting screen and then right before it hits the little chime and windows logo it turns black and just stays like that and wont do anything else. So I tried running a system restore point and a start-up repair in safe mode, I thought it would fix, I try again to reboot it, it does the same thing. But before my computer went haywire my McAfee said nothing was wrong, now here I am in safe mode trying to fix my computer, and McAfee is alerting me about how all my files need attention and how there all at risk. My anti virus for comodo internet security won’t update. A reminder popped up saying it was out of date. So i tried to manually update it. it stops at 51% and says “failed to update the virus signature database. My sons have an HP one year old laptop running Vista Home Premium 32 bit. Of course, just turned a year old two days ago and warranty is now up. There is not a lot of software on this thing. I installed ESET Nod32 and it runs well. I just scanned and there are no threats found. No popups are appearing in IE. There is no sign of a virus anywhere. There are multiple problems that I cannot figure out. When we try to shut the computer down, it gets stuck in Logging Off screen. I try Ctrl Alt Delete to bring up Task Manager but it will not appear. I get the Icon down in the lower right part of the screen, but cannot click on it to open it up. I tried to do a System Restore. I select it, but nothing happens. When I try doing it all over again, it says that it is already running, but it is not. I have tried uninstalling things they dont need but the uninstall freezes up also and when i hit cancel, it just remains cancelling without doing anything. I am usually pretty good at fixing things but this one has me stumped. If I could just do a restore, i feel like i could get it back to where it was before this started happening a couple of days ago,. Any help is appreciated. I have this antivirus pro live thing i never downloaded that keeps popping up saying my computer is infested and it doesn’t let me run any programs besides firefox saying they’re infested, it wont let me run combofix avast or anything. The computer also won’t go into safe mode every time i try to go into safe mode the text for files or directories or something comes up and then the computer restarts and if try to go into safe mode it won’t let me. I’ve had my laptop a little over 3 years and it’s been slowing down over the years. For example, it takes a couple minutes to open Mozilla Firefox. I know it has to do with all of the junk on my hard drive, but I don’t know how to go about cleaning it out. Should I completely wipe out my computer and start anew? If so, - will I have to re-order/ pay for programs such as Norton Antivirus? - will I need to install another copy of Microsoft Office/ buy a new version? Or, is there any FREE program that can help clean out the junk on my hard drive without completely wiping it out? If so, - Please name and describe the program. Ok, so i got trojan horse the other day. And for some reason the AVG i used wouldn’t work, so i tried to use other products but Trojan Horse would free them. So i Re-booted my computer with my CD (that means re-install my computer.. like when off the box) so does the trojan horse still have my credit cards? And if they do, do they use it to buy their own stuff? I have Windows 7 Ultimate installed in my HCL laptop. Last month i was encrypting my external hard disk with “bit locker drive encryption”. It started normally, but suddenly after 49%, it stuck, displaying an error: “An error occurred. This disk has one or more errors, run chkdsk/r, if the error persist this may be indicative of a hardware fault…” I then thought to decrypt my data back and to disable the protection. When I tried doing this, after some time my PC hanged and the operation got aborted. When I restarted my system, i found that the disk is not being detected. It is not shown in “computer”, although the disk lights were on. I tried running the hard disk in “Ubuntu OS”, it works there, but all my data is encrypted. My hard disk is absolutely fine and OK. There is no problem with hardware and no virus is there in my PC as well. What to do now? How can i get my data back and how can i decrypt my harddisk? Please help, since this data worths me a lot. I have tried downloads, on a variety of computers, which run everything from Windows 95, right up through XP. On every computer that I have ever tried, I have tried to stay on “safe” sites, such as Download.com, to download operations programs, screensavers, and so on (Download.com is just an example, of dozens of so-called web-sites I have tried). Wouldn’t you know it, though. At evewry single site, that I can mention, I have brought back viruses, worms, and “tons” of spy-ware. And this is from the “clean”, “safe”, web-sites. I know that the best hackers can penetrate any connection, including D.S.L., dial-up, and any other connection, to inject bad codes into home computers. How can internet users “safely” use the internet, without having to worry about hackers, and corporations, “injecting” garbage into our computers? Any suggestions would be appreciated. My anti virus for comodo internet security won’t update. A reminder popped up saying it was out of date. So i tried to manually update it. it stops at 51% and says “failed to update the virus signature database. I have a Dell Latitude Laptop using Windows XP. I took it to Geek Squad because it was skipping and the freezing up when I played DVDs or any kind of audio. When it freezes I have to turn it off witut shutting it down. It also wouldn’t freeze right away..it freezes into about 10 minutes of playing the DVD. It was also making weird noises when it froze. Best Buy informed me that the noise wasn’t any hardware issue, but the kind of noise the computer makes when it’s frozen. They said nothing was wrong hardware wise, and that I had 6 viruses on the laptop. Well now, all those viruses are removed, and my laptop is still skipping and freezing when I play DVDs..to the point where I have to turn off the computer without shutting it down. Also, now it freezes and makes a weird noises when I’m not playing any audio. If it’s not viruses, and geek squad said everything is fine with the computer physically, then what is it? I had to recently wipe out my Windows Vista and re-install it with XP because it became too virus infested and completely failed. Now I am looking into how I can prevent these issues. I love to download fonts, but I don’t exactly want to pay $20 for them. I used to use DaFont.com and I loved it, but now I’ve been looking at reviews and such to make sure. There’s only good reviews, but I can’t be sure those are legit. I know Yahoo! I’ve recently discovered that the a virus (Infopass.Gamestealer to be specific) has somehow made its way onto my flash drive. It is most likely from a computer I share with the other four hundred or so at my school, but I’m unsure how to remove the virus as Norton (Yes, I realize that it’s terrible in terms of virus detection, but it’s all I have.) isn’t detecting it when I scan the drive. As a result of this virus being on my frequently used flash drive, I’ve managed to let it drop some malware (Hacktool.Rootkit) onto my personal computer. Norton only ever detects this one when I turn my PC on and never catches it during any of my scans of the computer. Are their any suggestions as to how I can deal with each of them individually, or even both at once? Thank you all for your help!
